A new life plan: 3 months of travel per year

View Southeast Asia on kkhopper's travel map.

After my successful birthday experiment last year (spending 3 months in Ecuador to celebrate turning 60), I'm now on a path that will lead me to longish stays in new places every year. This year, I'm heading for Southeast Asia. This may be not quite true to the spirit of adventure of my new path, since Cambodia is the place I've lived longest, other than California. Nevertheless, I left home with the plan of spending two weeks in Cambodia in the company of Tam, Calle, and Broc (daughter, niece, and nephew) and then moving on to Vietnam for the remainder of my three month trip. Thanks to my obsession with earning and collecting frequent flyer miles of all sorts, my first class ticket was free, and I had enough miles in the bank to subsidize the tickets for my three fellow travelers.
